About ramadan

The Month of Blessings and Mercy

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the most sacred month for Muslims around the world. It is the month in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed as guidance for humanity. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn (Fajr) until sunset (Maghrib), refraining from food, drink, and sinful behavior to grow in self-discipline, patience, and closeness to Allah.

Fasting in Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Beyond staying hungry and thirsty, the fast teaches empathy for the less fortunate, strengthens gratitude, and purifies the heart. Muslims increase their عبادت (worship) through prayer, recitation of the Qur’an, charity (Zakat and Sadaqah), and remembrance of Allah.

This blessed month is also known as the month of mercy, forgiveness, and salvation from Hellfire. The last ten nights hold special importance, especially Laylat-ul-Qadr (The Night of Power), which is better than a thousand months.

Ramadan is a time for spiritual renewal, family unity, and community bonding. It ends with the joyous celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the completion of fasting and a return to normal routine with renewed faith and gratitude.
